Get To Know Me

I've had my blog for however many years now, and still feel like you guys don't know me that well. So with that said I've decided to base today's post on sharing a little bit about me; what I love, what I hate, who my favourite bands are, what motivates me, my go to outfits... so you can get to know a little bit more about me and my blog Glorious Chic.

How did you build up the courage to share your first blog post?

I actually really struggled with this one and because I was in Sixth Form at the time the idea of actually sharing my first post kind of petrified me....you know how people in School can be. One day I literally just decided to publish it, after telling myself at the end of the day I'm doing this for me, and no one else...so if it makes me happy then just embrace it and feel confident I'm doing something for myself. Sometimes I still feel nervous sharing personal posts about myself, but these are the types of posts I actually love the most as I feel they are more me than anything else I write...which is why I probably get so nervous sharing them (I tend to pour my heart and soul into them.)

Do you see yourself living in London in the future?

YES! London has been my favourite city since I was young. I think the job opportunities in London are incredible and just the overall vibe in London makes me so excited. There's never a dull moment when I travel to London and I always feel like each time I go I do something different...I think that's sometimes the great thing about big cities; no matter how many times you go you always come across something new. So  yes I definitely see myself living there...maybe even in the next few years *fingers crossed!

What are your go-to essential clothing items and your go to outfit?

For the colder days (a typical day in England) my go to essentials would be denim jeans a graphic t-shirt and a statement jacket...can't live without the statement jacket! In terms of an actual outfit I'd say my BDG Kick Flare jeans, my 'New York I Love You' t-shirt, my Missguided mustard jacket and my white mules...oh and a little white bag to complete the look. However for the warmer months I'd say a little denim a-line skirt, a matching indigo jacket and a cute slogan tee.

What motivates you to blog?

Being totally honest I'm most motivated when I'm not stressed and having a break or travelling. That doesn't mean I'm not motivated when I'm getting on with my day-to-day life but there's just something about being relaxed and travelling to a place that isn't home that makes me even more motivated than ever. I have such an obsession for writing, taking photos and overall producing content so this is my biggest motivator, being that I truly have a passion to do all of those things, and blogging is one of the best ways I find I can do all of that!

Who inspires your style?

I have quite a few people that actually inspire my personal style. I'm super inspired by Lana Del Rey and her care-free sense of life and dressing...her music also inspires me a lot. In terms of other bloggers I am inspired by Megan Ellaby's colourful way of dressing and having the confidence to wear and look amazing in literally everything. I'm also inspired by Mary L Jean, I love her city style and how fun her dress sense is. Then last I'm inspired by Lucy Williams and how classic her style is: vintage jeans, basic tees and the most amazing bag collection. I love how each of these girls constantly experiment with their style which always inspires me to do the same.

Desert Island: What 3 things can't you live without?

This is so hard...I'd definitely say my family would be the first one. Netflix next, so that I can still catch up on my favourite programmes and my Olympus Pen camera...it comes everywhere with me.

What are your favourite three high street stores?

Zara is the first...if you know me well you will know how obsessed I am. Next would probably be H&M I love how you can buy pretty much everything in there. And last I'd say Mango I love their classic pieces.

What is your favourite place in the whole world?

New Zealand or California (I can't decide between the two.) I have been to New Zealand twice now and am in love with the natural beauty of the country as well as the fact it's probably the most laid back place you could ever visit. California on the other hand is so exciting and actually one of the only places I've visited where I felt at home.

Who is your favourite band and/or artist?

My favourite artist would be Lana Del Rey and band (atm) would be PVRIS! I always remember being in the car with my dad when I first heard Video Games and fell head over heels for Lana...the obsession has never ended.

Where do you enjoy eating?

My favourite place to eat would be anywhere with tapas (my favourite) or Frankie and Bennie's; purely for their penne carbanara.

What is your favourite film?

My favourite all time film would probably be Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire but I also love Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging...I'm pretty sure most of us girls can quote nearly the whole of that film!

What are your pet hates?

I absolutely hate when people cancel or change plans last minute. I'm such an organiser so I feel anxious when things are left to last minute. I also hate when people are narrow minded. I'm someone who likes to listen to both sides of an argument and wouldn't ever believe that my opinion should be the only opinion...so when people act like this I really don't get it.

Any Interesting facts?

I can say the alphabet super fast in all lower case. I've also never had a pet...not even a goldfish!
