HAPPY FRIDAY!
I'm loving the regular posts on a Friday now and I am really hoping to make them a regular thing ( you can do it Caitlin!) I've literally had such an amazing week; my grandparents had been down from the previous week and that left me feeling super happy. Most of my friends are back from Uni and I've managed to catch up with them and get all the gossip on what they've been up to. I've planned a tonne of things for this month and August which is making me more than just a little excited...and lastly I can finally share with you all the amazing photos from my shoot with Katherine Mcmorran that we took in London a few weeks back...it's safe to say she's a talent and a half!
Now...let's talk about 'sportswear'- a trend that I feel I've neglected for quite some time; even though I've had these trousers in my wardrobe since last year I feel like I haven't really gave them the attention they well and truly deserve. I don't know whether that's because up until now I found sportswear to be quite a tricky trend to master when it came to dressing for my style and using things in my wardrobe to make the outfit 100% me, because let's face it I won't wear a trend unless I actually love it. However when I saw this trend come about a few years ago I wanted to hop straight on it, and find it funny that's it's only been in the past few months I've felt confident enough to style it! I think a lot of the time when we refer to the trend we think we have to actually be sporty to wear it, but oh how wrong I was. Sportswear can be taken right from the courts and onto the street!
These trousers are the definition of leg lengthening. Admittedly wide leg trousers used to petrify me, which I find funny now as I feel as though they are key to my wardrobe; my days of super skinny trousers are well and truly over! The athletic stripe down the side is perfect for mastering the sportswear trend without being too over the top. Pairing it with this red bodysuit is key for this time of year, and especially for me; someone who is slightly obsessed with red...who am I kidding, I mean totally obsessed with red. Now I could have thrown on a pair of trainers to completely capture the sportswear essence but mules to me are a way of contrasting the trend and making it a little more high fashion and chic, as well as making me look a little taller. To me, this outfit is a definite game changer and will be following me into the Autumn and Winter months: think turtle neck jumper tucked into these trousers, oversized leather jacket on top, black boots and a red bag to finish of with.
You can call me the modern Sporty Spice!
